Positive Reviews
positive:
Excellent downtown location.
The hotel is located within walking distance of many of downtown Chicago's points of interest -- shops and dining are all just a few minutes away. Despite being in a downtown area, the hotel is still very quiet and allows you to relax after a day of exploring.
positive:
Clean, spacious rooms.
The bedrooms are very spacious and the bathrooms are roomy as well. Housekeeping does an exceptional job at keeping the rooms clean between guests -- the bedding is plush and the terrycloth robes in the bathroom are a nice added touch.
positive:
Staff is helpful.
Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful from the start -- the front desk does what they can to accommodate any of your extra needs or requests and the entire property is very clean and welcoming.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Limited amenities provided.
For a boutique luxury hotel, you might be disappointed at some of the lacking amenities at the property. There is no spa or pool and sometimes amenities that are there don't work very well, such as a noisy air conditioner or an out of order elevator. The hotel car service is also limited to certain hours, so make sure you know what they are before you try to use the service.
negative:
Compromised views.
Depending on the location of your guest room, your city or lake views could be compromised or even partially blocked. If you're paying extra for this type of view, an unobstructed view is not worth the money.
negative:
Expensive parking charges.
If you are arriving at the hotel with your own car, be prepared for extremely high parking charges.
