About Le Repubbliche Marinare
Situated in a quiet area close to the Rialto Bridge, Le Repubbliche Marinare is a small and simple B&B offering clean accommodation just a short distance from the lively Grand Canal.
The rooms are located within a private apartment and have been furnished and decorated in a contemporary style. They look out over the Calle dei Boteri and share the bathroom.
The apartment has a kitchen, which guests are welcome to use, a dining room and a small terrace, the ideal place to relax in the cool breeze.
A simple Italian breakfast is available every morning. Guests may use the kitchen to prepare their own lunch and dinner, or of course choose one of the incredible restaurants that abound in Venice.
Situated in the Campo Cassiano district, just opposite
the Ca’ d’Oro, Le Repubbliche Marinare is just steps from the Grand Canal, from where vaporetti may
be used to access all Venice, and 400 yards from the Rialto Bridge.
Positive Reviews
positive:
Good central location
Guests were very impressed with the location of the hotel. While not exactly right on St Mark's Square, the fact that it was in an area a little less inundated with tourists was only viewed as a benefit by guests. They reported that they could either walk to where they wanted to be in Venice, or perhaps catch a vaporretto on the nearby Grand Canal.
positive:
Remarkably quiet location
For a B&B in the heart of Venice, and pretty close to many of its attractions, guests were impressed with how quiet it was. It seems that it is in a somewhat quieter lane, and there were no real complaints about external noise.
positive:
Friendly and helpful owner
Guests had only good things to say about the owner of the apartment. He was described as not only friendly and welcoming, but also more than willing to help with directions , recommendations and general information about Venice.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Breakfast a little too basic for some
A number of guests found the breakfast to be a bit too basic for their tastes. A simple Italian breakfast is served, and the lack of meat or other sources of protein was a concern for some.
negative:
Walls are paper thin
While noise from outside wasn't typically a problem, a number of guests did say that they could easily hear sounds coming from the adjacent rooms, even ones at fairly normal volume. The rooms were not said to be well soundproofed.
negative:
Difficult to find
Like most properties in Venice, perhaps with the exception of St. Mark's Basilica, it was mentioned that the B&B was a bit tricky to find among the warren of alleys and canals. The fact that the B&B wasn't signposted did not help matters either.
