Utopia Blu Hotel (Tigaki, Greece)

The location is ideal. The Sunset hotel is close to the beach. There is a plethora of shops, tavernas and restaurants available, so guests can enjoy shopping and eating out, with many varieties of food from which to choose.

The staff members here are highly appreciated for their guest-friendly, helpful attitude. Eleni at Reception has been mentioned as being particularly helpful, knowing instinctively what a guest needs even before they ask for it. A barman, Cvetan, has been mentioned as being an entertaining individual who makes evenings fun. Overall, the staff has been described as committed individuals for whom nothing is too much trouble when it comes to welcoming and caring for guests.

The rooms here are highly appreciated, with their bright, spacious interiors and spotlessly clean appearance. Some of the rooms have balconies with fantastic Aegean views too.

Although English is spoken in the hotel and TV is in the bedroom, there are no English TV programmes available. Free continental breakfast is offered daily, which includes Greek yoghurt. While many guests appreciated the yoghurt, many were bored with the breakfast after three days and longed for more choice.

After 5 pm, the management cannot be contacted, which means that any problems that may arise during the evening have to wait until morning, leaving some of the guests feeling quite alone and abandoned.

This is a family hotel with kids facilities and activities, but some guests have expressed reservations about safety. Apparently, the doors of the units can be easily opened by a four year old child. Also, the swimming pool is quite open with no rail, so a child wandering about might fall in.
