A stunning location.
Right on the glorious beach with shops and bars just a short walk away. Life doesn't get much better than this! Rooms are nicely decorated and clean and most have a balcony with those great sea views.

There is an outdoor pool at Universal Hotel Perla. Additional features include a sun terrace, games room, bicycle hire, lift, 24-hour reception, medical services, entertainment programme and kids’ club. Parking facilities are nearby. A buffet breakfast is served in the restaurant. There is also a lunch and dinner buffet service, plus snacks throughout the day. The bar features local wines; plus beers, lagers and spirits. Yes, meals are good and choices varied. They cover the needs of vegetarians and those with special dietary requirements. Staff are very helpful and the manager never seems to go to bed - he's always there to help in a very friendly way.
There's not a great deal happening in the village itself - but, that's part of the appeal. There are lots of cycling and transport options to get you to the ‘bright lights'if that's what you want and the bust station is next to the hotel. Public transport is a hoot!
The hotel is Dutch-owned and geared to the needs of mainland European countries. It's not worth getting exasperated over the ill-mannered 'towel on beach bed' (type) brigade, but the English tend to be in a small minority. The language isn't commonly used and it takes the edge of your appetite when the restaurant menu is in German - or similar - language.
The lack of consideration on the part of other guests gives rise to a constant banging of doors, loud voices and unnecessary noise. This is a big down-side to any stay here. A visit to the sun deck is impossible for some as it's up three flights of stairs.
Air conditioning is a necessity but is only available in upgraded, more expensive, rooms. Likewise a refrigerator costs extra ... and sometimes they run out of them anyway. Rooms don't include any tea and coffee facilities.
