A gem hidden away on lush, green grounds with meticulously manicured shrubbery, there's an assortment of dining, afternoon tea times, leisure and event venues on-site. The pool is inviting and adults-only after 6 pm. Food is brilliant starting with the huge breakfast spread. Ask for vegetarian options and the chef will oblige. Shopping centres and other town attractions including the Kildare outlets are easily reached within a ten-minute drive. Free parking and Wi-Fi, clean and comfortable.

Spacious, tidy and beautifully-arranged, the rooms offer large beds, a lovely ambience and perfectly-functioning amenities. Four poster beds are popular in larger units.

Friendly and efficient staff will ensure your comfort from arrival to departure. Reception is welcoming, room service is prompt and the bar staff is stupendous.

You may find confusion when booking or enjoying meals with a larger party or during busier dining times. The service appears to break down in communication and efficiency when under increased stress. Be patient and prepared to repeat yourself. Some also felt the menus could have offered a few more choices.

Electrical outlets for charging devices seem sparse and the mattresses are harder than some might prefer. You may need a detective to help you find your room; the signs are elusive and confusing. Also, pool towels may be few and far between when you request them. Bring a couple from home if you like.

The Wi-Fi works, but you can plan on needing to log back in somewhat often.
