Positive Reviews
positive:
Excellent location
Whatever other problems guest had with the hotel, and there were certainly some, its location wasn't one of them. The hotel is in a prime central location in one of India most popular cities, and guests did appreciate being so close to the sights, government offices and businesses that were the target of their visit.
positive:
Rooms quite spacious
Guests were clearly surprised that a hotel in such a central location had rooms that were so spacious. They felt they had more than enough space for the size of their party, without people getting in each other's way.
positive:
Generally kept very clean
While there were some contrary views, most guests found that the cleaning staff did an excellent job, and that their rooms were clean on check-in, and tended to remain that way for the duration of their stay.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Staff very bureaucratic
Several guests mention that the hotel may in fact be owned by the Indian government itself. As a result, they say, the employees tend to behave more like bureaucrats, rather than hotel service staff. The upshot of it all is that the guests were often unhappy with the attitude and service level of the staff.
negative:
Beds not very comfortable
While complaints concerning the beds are inevitable at almost any hotel, due to the very personal preferences regarding mattress firmness, there were too many here to just to pass-off in this fashion. It seems that there may be a real problem with the mattresses in the hotel.
negative:
Food not very good
It was difficult to find anything good written about the food served in the hotel. At best guests describe it as bland, and state unequivocally that there are much better options in the streets nearby.
