The Herbert Grand Hotel is a 26 unit, family-owned, historic post-Victorian hotel located 12 miles from Sugarloaf Mountain and 15 miles from the Appalachian Trail and the Maine Huts & Trails system, in Kingfield, Maine. We deliver a unique and historic experience. From the moment you step into our lobby, you are transported back in time to 1918. The lobby and the rooms contain many of the original antique furnishings and fixtures original to the hotel and enhance the uniqueness of your lodging experience. In 2016, we completed renovations of all 26 guest rooms and bathrooms and the hotel looks amazing. If you are in search of a cookie-cutter hotel, then look elsewhere. However, if you want a lodging experience that you will remember for a lifetime and share with your friends, then stay with us. We are open year round and cater to hikers, mountain bikers, motorcyclists and ATVs, leaf peepers, sportsmen, skiers, riders, snowmobilers, snowshoers and anyone who wants an authentic Maine adventure to share with their friends back home. We offer online booking for some, but not all, of our room types and encourage guests to call about specific rooms. We hope to see you soon!
