The onsite restaurant is on the roof, so offers great views. It serves all three meals.

From May to November the hotel has very special visitors. Loggerhead and Green turtles nest at this time right on the beach out front.
Positive Reviews
positive:
Tranquil and peaceful
While there were some guests who thought the hotel was a bit too remote, the overwhelming majority loved the location. They definitely felt that they had selected a hotel that allowed them to avoid the crowds. The beach right in front was said to be excellent and not at all crowded, except with turtles during nesting season.
positive:
Terrific onsite restaurant
While a couple of guests did find the menu limited, most clearly liked the onsite restaurant. The view was said to be particularly good and the food tasty and reasonably priced.
positive:
Kayaks and snorkelling gear
The hotel provides free sea kayaks and snorkelling gear for guests who wish to use them. Reading through the reviews, it seems that many guests did indeed wish to use them, and were very grateful to have them available from their hotel without any fuss.
Negative Reviews
negative:
A bit too remote for some
While most guests did like the peace and quite of the location, others felt that it was a bit too remote. They felt that, without a car, they were a bit stranded. Akumal was described as a very long walk away, and the taxi charges would quickly pile up if one relied in this method to get around.
negative:
Some units are basement suites
While not a very typical complaint, a few guests did mention that their suite was almost like a basement unit, with the garden pretty much at eye level. Suffice to say this was not what they were expecting when visiting the sunny Yucatan peninsula.
negative:
Beach full of seaweed
Of course there was nothing the hotel could do about it, but several guests mentioned that, at certain times of the year, the sea in front of the hotel was inundated with seaweed. It made swimming a bit difficult.
