Royal Victoria Hotel (Pisa, Italy)

The Royal Victoria is a family-run hotel with a lineage from the 19th century. It happens to be the only hotel in Pisa located opposite the River Arno making it an exclusive choice for accommodation. It is in a popular area as well being close to shopping and the University areas and many restaurants. The world famous Leaning Tower is just a delightful walk through the enchanting medieval streets of Pisa. The international airport is only around two kilometres from the hotel.

The rooms and suites at the hotel are elegant with some of them providing captivating views of the river. Every room has television with premium satellite channels showed. Room service is available.

The hotel caters to guests travelling on business and leisure. It has meeting rooms and conference space to hold business meetings. The reception has staff 24 hours. Guests can confer with the staff to engage in several activities like parasailing or go on hiking and biking trails all close to the hotel. The hotel has a lobby with television and a garden. Complimentary continental breakfast is served. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel.

Air conditioners in the rooms are either not working or make a noise loud enough to disturb sleep all through the night. Opening the windows leads to being bitten by mosquitoes as the hotel is by the river.

The rooms are dated and appear shabby. Things like door keys don’t work. The bathrooms have cracks in the wall, shower pressure is very low and there is no hot water. No plug points are provided and the lighting is poor. Beds are uncomfortable as well.

Parking is difficult and awkward in the space provided and need the services of a valet. Both these facilities are charged.
