While guests did seem to have some issues with the hotel, there were very few complaints about cleanliness. On the contrary, most said that both their rooms and the public areas were kept very clean, and the gardens around the pool very well tended.

While the hotel isn't right on the beach, this didn't seem to worry most. It is not a long walk to get to Calangute Beach, which many guests maintain is the most attractive in the area. Also mentioned was that the main road the hotel is on has some good restaurants, so they had plenty of other options aside from the hotel's restaurant.

While the service was almost universally described as slow, the actual food at the self styled “multi-cuisine” restaurant was generally well received. Guests from various food backgrounds seemed to be able to find something on the menu they wanted, and were generally happy with what was served.

While clearly not a universal problem, some guests did report that they received very unprofessional and rude responses from staff at reception. The circumstances were not usually outlined, but it left a bad taste in their mouth.

Based on the number of guest reports of a permanent foul smell emanating from the bathrooms, it appears there may be a building wide plumbing issue that causes sewage back up, but whatever the reason guests certainly did not like it.

A surprising number of guests reported that the reception staff were unable to find their booking when they tried to check in. While these problems were usually sorted out eventually, in some cases it took hours and severely strained the patience of all concerned.
