    About Posada Real La Montañesa

    Posada Real La Montañesa located in the town of Barros (Los Corrales de Buelna) is a typical 18th century mountain house. It has a magnificent stone façade which has a double semicircular arch. In the porch to the left is what was once the fourth Pilgrim (one of the humanitarian traditions of inns was to house the pilgrims who made the Camino de Santiago). The upper floor is dominated by a balcony beautiful brown carved by local craftsmen. In this facade are also some windows framed by coffered embossed whose lintel is decorated with a cross flanked by rosettes and pyramids. In the doorway with access to the property a lowered arch topped with a Latin cross and two bowls on the side opens.
