Many guests of Merlin Beach Resort commented on the size of the pools, saying that they were very large and provided an enjoyable environment. This gave guests an exciting location at which to spend time during the day without having to leave the resort.

Past guests have enjoyed being close to the beach when staying at this property. While the beach isn't the best for swimming, it provides outstanding views for guests of the hotel.

Those who went with the all inclusive meal plan loved the value, as they had everything taken care of for them throughout their stay. This made their holidays completely stress-free, as they didn't have to worry about meals or buying drinks.

A few guests of Merlin Beach Resort complained that the food at the resort isn't the best and that there isn't much variety when selecting breakfast. There have also been problems with people finding the prices of the food to be a bit much, especially when compared to neighbouring restaurants.

Some guests have mentioned that the staff is not all that friendly and that many staff members do not speak English. There have also been issues with the restaurant not being property cleaned and dishes from room service meals being left in the hallways overnight.

There have been issues with guests not being impressed by the location, as it is a bit far from Patong. This made it difficult to do much inside of the city, so guests were often forced to stay at the resort more often than they wished.
