Thunderbird Lodge is a laid-back lodge surrounded by scenic mountains and recreational areas. It is located in the heart of downtown Redding. There are simple rooms with subdued décor and feature free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs and coffeemakers. All the rooms are also equipped with microwaves, refrigerators, hairdryers and ironing facilities. Local calls from the room are complimentary. Thunderbird Lodge has an outdoor pool. The lodge is located right in the center of Redding, with loads of activities around. Guests said that the lodge could be traced easily without much hassle. All the tourist attractions are situated at a walking distance. Additionally, there are many restaurants in close proximity to the lodge. Thus it was an ideal stopover.
Rooms in the lodge are maintained up-to-date and kept spotlessly clean. Guests said that the rooms were comfortable to stay in with cozy beds. There were also many electrical/charging outlets in the rooms as well as other amenities like free Wi-Fi, refrigerators and microwaves.
Since the lodge offers budget accommodations, it is fairly reasonable. For the price charged, there are many facilities like pool, business center etc. Plus, staff is very helpful and polite extending excellent customer service.
Many guests mentioned about the entire property being constantly noisy. The walls are literally paper thin. There is noise coming in from the neighboring rooms, trains blowing horns very close by, truck traffic noise, and garbage truck emptying the dumpsters early in the morning.
Breakfast served at the lodge was insufficient and lacked variety. There was hardly anything available on the breakfast menu other than the regular cereals, toasts and juices. Guests had to look for options outside for breakfast.
The air-conditioners in the rooms were not in a good working condition and quite noisy as well. Some guests said that the sheets on the beds weren't changed daily and the bedding provided was too thin.
