Positive Reviews
positive:
Plentiful shuttle services.
As well as providing complementary shuttle services to/from the Falls and Casino every hour during the high season, the hotel also runs a free shuttle to/from the largest factory outlet mall in the area, all-year-round. Very handy.
positive:
Owners are extremely knowledgeable.
Ask the owners of the Swiss Cottage anything you want about the local area and you can bet your bottom dollar they'll give you a quicker and more comprehensive answer then any online search engine. And they're lovely people too.
positive:
Pool is a real bonus.
Clean, well maintained and a really good size; the motel's outdoor pool is easily its biggest plus point. If you can tweak your dates to ensure your visit coincides with a period of favorable weather then chances are you'll enjoy your stay here that much more..
Negative Reviews
negative:
Very thin partition walls.
Unfortunately, there is no soundproofing/insulation between the hotel's accommodations. This means you can hear pretty much everything your neighbors say/do/watch on TV even when they're trying their hardest to be quiet.
negative:
No 'extras'.
You'll need to include things like bathroom amenities in your suitcase when you're packing, even if you're just coming here for a brief overnight jaunt. Why? Well, it's simple: this stripped-back motel doesn't provide anything in the way of 'extras' - not even soap.
negative:
Rooms are small.
They're clean and they're neat and they're functional; however, there's no escaping the fact that the rooms here are really pretty small. If you're used to having lots of space and/or are traveling as part of a group then you may want to think twice before making that booking..
