You wouldn't expect it of a roadside budget motel but there are some really lovely views of the surrounding countryside to be had from the garden area. Quite lovely in fact.

Exemplary customer service is perhaps another thing you wouldn't readily associate with chain motel-type establishments. Like the views though, the friendly and conscientious staff help to make a stay here inordinately more pleasant

Unlike most other hotels of this kind, Redwings Lodge Dunstable is more than happy for responsible owners to bring their pets along with them while they're away. The fact that they don't charge any supplements for the privilege is a bonus too.

It seems a little unfair to complain about a free breakfast but the buffet-style, self-service offerings of toast, cereal and hot/cold drinks aren't exactly belly-busting. If you need a more substantial morning meal then try the 'Buddies USA' diner next door instead.

Numerous guests have noted how the noise from the nearby A5 can be heard in some rooms and is often loud enough to disturb sleep. Probably best to bring some ear plugs with you if you're a light sleeper, just in case.

As far as roadside budget hotels go, it has to be said that Redwings Lodge Dunstable – despite it's evident shortcomings with food and double-glazing – is arguably one of the better options available in this locale.
