Positive Reviews
positive:
Caring and capable staff.
Although the recently refurbished interiors and natural charm of the property play their part, it is fair to say that much of the hotel's pleasant and friendly atmosphere stems from the attitude and efforts of the affable, hard-working couple who run it. Industrious and empathetic, these are people who are willing to pull out all the stops to ensure their guests enjoy a truly great holiday.
positive:
Wonderful location for exploring.
The guest house lies in an idyllic location, with plenty of walking opportunities through the countryside and along coastal paths starting and finishing in the village of Gorey itself. It's really easy to get over to the capital too as a fantastic bus service runs regularly from a stop located just metres away from the hotel's front door.
positive:
Spotlessly clean and tidy interiors.
Fresh off the back of a comprehensive refurb, The Maison Gorey's interiors look supremely tidy and feel immaculately fresh throughout. Superb.
Negative Reviews
negative:
There's no lift.
There's a few steepish staircases to negotiate here so getting your luggage up to one of the higher rooms can be problematic if you're not in the best of shape. In addition, some rooms also have a step or two inside them which you need to walk down after you enter so be sure to keep your wits about you.
negative:
Very limited parking.
This hotel does not have many car parking spaces available for guests. If you're arriving here in a hire car then be prepared: you may well have to hunt around for an alternative free space elsewhere.
negative:
Wi-Fi is a bit hit and miss.
Whilst some guest rooms are privy to a decent Wi-Fi signal, others aren't able to receive anything at all. Fortunately the Wi-Fi reception in the foyer area is normally pretty solid.
