A full buffet breakfast (at a fee) is served in a light and airy dining room each morning. A selection of cafes, restaurants, bars and fast-food outlets are located close by. The Yggotel Mejse is a stone’s throw from the main train station and just over two-and-a-half miles from Prater Park. The majestic Schönbrunn Palace is three-and-a-half miles away.
The vast majority of guests loved this hotel's convenient location, being as it is just a three-minute walk from the nearest metro station and a five-minute stroll from the main train station (where there's a direct train to/from the airport). The fact that there are plenty of bars and cafes close by was considered the icing on the cake!
As well as being super-friendly and extremely efficient, the staff at the hotel reception are able to flit between several different languages with consummate ease. Needless to say, this is something many non-German speaking visitors greatly appreciated.
It may not be free but it's fair to say numerous guests said the breakfast buffet offered here, with its choice of cooked foods, cereals, fruit, bread, juices and coffee/tea had everything needed to get the day off to a decent start.
A significant number of disgruntled guests have reported that the rooms at the front of the hotel, i.e. those that overlook the train station and busy main approach road, are just too noisy during the night.
It has been observed that the absence of any effective air-conditioning makes the guest rooms here feel uncomfortably warm and sticky at night. Unsurprisingly, this did not go down well at all with travellers during warmer months.
A great number of visitors have been left consistently disappointed by the free Wi-Fi provided at this hotel. While the signal is just fine in and around the lobby area, it evidently doesn't have the strength to reach the accommodation areas on the upper floors.
