Guests were pleased to find a wide range of facilities catering for different age groups which meant that families had plenty of things to do on-site. The spa proved popular with those looking to pamper themselves whilst the games room complete with pool-table and various board games attracted guests of all ages. Those with young children appreciated the outdoor play area s well as the seasonal outdoor pool.

The hotel is surrounded by extensive private grounds where ducks and chickens roam freely creating an idyllic countryside scene. Guests said that they appreciated being away from the hustle and bustle yet liked the fact that they were only a short distance away from many attractions and amenities.

The dishes served at the on-site restaurant were complimented by many of the guests who said that the meals were well prepared and made from high quality ingredients. Guests appreciated the range of dishes on offer as well as the extensive children's menus.

Some of the guests mentioned that they had to go in search of staff when they wanted to order a drink in the lounge whilst others remarked that the service at breakfast was often rather slow.

Although the guests appreciated the antique furniture and the old-world charm of the hotel, some noticed that the carpets and upholstery in the rooms were staring to show their age and said that they could do with being replaced.
