Toronto can be very expensive and guests said this hotel was inexpensive and a bargain for the area. Some guests described it as one of the cheapest options in the city, others said the price was the major selling point.

The combination of Toronto's warm summer temperatures and non working air conditioning units left many guests feeling hot and bothered. They complained that the windows were small and the building poorly ventilated. When air conditioning units did work, the noise kept many guests awake at night. Hallway fans did little to ease the discomfort.
