The Smoky Mountain Hostel is nestled in the heart of Bryson City, North Carolina. With its sprawling front porch, guests can take a load off after a long day of hiking. New friendships can be forged over a local brew, or guests can relax on their own in the living room or in their dorms. With two dorms, two private rooms, and a family room, each and every traveler can be accommodated.In less than a five-minute walk, restaurants, bars, shops, and galleries can be found downtown. Less than ten minutes up the road is Deep Creek campground, where trails can be hiked and creeks floated down. With the Tuckasegee running through the city, a sense of calm befalls Bryson at all times.Just around the corner from the hostel is Bryson City Island Park, a tranquil area to fish, read, or grill. As the weather warms up, paddle boarders and kayakers can be seen floating down the river through town. Whether a single traveler or a family, there are plenty of things to do and places to visit within and around the city of Bryson. Our hostel, built in 1906, boasts high ceilings, a large porch, a clawfoot tub, and all the space one could imagine. With central heat and air, along with heaters in the downstairs rooms, the hostel is kept at a comfortable temperature year-round. A fully equipped kitchen is available for guests use, as well as an easy, on-the-go breakfast of oatmeal, fruit, coffee and tea. A bathroom is located on each floor, the clawfoot tub being on ground level. Checking in is easy and painless- the door codes given to each guest when they book their reservations.Checkout is just as easy- simply throw the sheets in the bin by the front door and hit the trails.
