Positive Reviews
positive:
Fantastic views all around.
Being up on the sides of a hill, the Hotel Sirius is at a great advantage as it can be peaceful and of course enjoy unobstructed views of the sea below. Whether inside your room, on your private balcony, in the restaurant or at the swimming pool, this unique position is fully taken advantage of so that the calm sea is always near.
positive:
Relaxation and comfort at swimming pool.
The pool area on the lowest level is open and looks out onto an ocean view. Sunbeds are available in abundance and the bar serving drinks and snacks make it a great place to cool off in peace or to sunbathe undisturbed.
positive:
Charming restaurants close by.
The hotel being close to town means there is much shopping nearby as well as local restaurants and even a small ice cream parlour near the bus station; all merit a visit during your stay in Taormina.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Some rooms quite small and plain.
All rooms are well furnished, spotless and comfortable, however some of the more basic ones are rather small for more than one person and may not have much space in the bathroom or balcony either.
negative:
On-site parking is an extra charge.
Although the hotel offers ample private parking, a daily fee applies, which is something to think about should you wish to take a car. It is however easy to move around the area into town and the beaches on foot, using the private shuttles or on the cable-cars, so that may be a good alternative to bringing/renting a car.
negative:
Walking around the slopes may be tiring.
Although the town centre of Taormina is only a ten or fifteen minute walk away, it is uphill and there are some stairs at the hotel as well, so for those with health or mobility difficulties, this is worth noting.
