Hotel Salou Sunset by Pierre & Vacances (Salou, Spain)

Rooms are attractively decorated and furnished. They are kept exceptionally clean.

The hotel offers full catering menus but, if you aren’t on an inclusive deal, there are a number of places to eat in the surrounding area. Don’t miss the in-house breakfast though. Highlights include delicious omelettes, pancakes and fried eggs that are freshly prepared, just for you.

Members of staff in all departments of the hotel, including those hard-working entertainers, are superb. They do everything within their power – and go beyond the call of duty– to ensure complete customer satisfaction. They succeed brilliantly! They speak good English –sometimes better than the the visitor! – and they are super friendly; a real holiday bonus.

Food generally, is a bit hit and miss. Breakfast is OK but chicken nuggets on that particular menu don’t go down well! In the evening and maybe with the end of season in sight, the microwave is seen as an essential, but not appealing, dining component. The hotel should wave goodbye to the microwave and get freshly prepared food on the table!

The pool is very disappointingly small. It’s OK, but not what was expected.

There are smells in the bathroom which the hotel management justify because the hotel is at sea-level. Additional excuses include suggesting that poor weather conditions are a feature in a wave of plumbing issues. Whatever the causes may be, they need to be sorted to ensure that paying guests receive proper value, rather than being fobbed off with lame excuses.
