Easy access to main sites.
The Santa Maria Novella train station is a 10-minute walk from the hotel, and several local buses are a few minutes’ walk away. Many monuments and other attractions can be reached within 10 to 15 minutes’ walk. Sites such as Ponte Vecchio, the Duomo, the Uffizi and Piazza della Repubblica are all within 15-minutes’ walk.

The staff are friendly and courteous, attentive and knowledgeable about the local area. Tourist information is readily given, including directions on how to best get to sites as well as recommendations on restaurants and places of interest to visit.

Both the hotel and rooms are well appointed and beautifully decorated. The hotel also features a well maintained patio and garden area to relax in. Though centrally located, the area is quiet and peaceful.

Lacking 5-star service.
Staff have been described as unfriendly, rude and impersonal. At times the staff gave the impression of being indifferent to the needs of guests. Assistance is not always given with carrying luggage.

Not all the guest rooms appear to be newly refurbished, as some guests commented that their rooms were renovated while others felt that the rooms were old and outdated. Some guests found their bed linen to be old and frayed. Other room issues included an insufficient number of electrical sockets to accommodate all the devices of a modern traveller.

The Wi-Fi connection is not strong or reliable in all locations, and your ability to connect may depend on which floor or room you are staying in. At times the air conditioning does not function, and also seems to be turned off during certain times of year.
