Positive Reviews
positive:
A warm welcome.
Staff are friendly and helpful and guests feel welcome from the off; with sparkling wine and fruit baskets frequently given on arrival. Staff will also upgrade rooms as availability allows and are happy to recommend the best places to visit and dine nearby.
positive:
Well-equipped rooms.
Rooms are kept clean and have excellent bathrooms, with hydromassage tubs or powerful showers with plenty of hot water. Blackout blinds are provided in each to ensure a great night's sleep.
positive:
Short walk to top attractions.
With St Marks Square nearby and a stop for water taxis and the boat to and from the airport closer still, Palazzo del Giglio is ideally situated for exploring the major attractions in the city. Designer shops line the surrounding streets and, while central, the hotel is situated far enough away to avoid the crowds.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Wi-Fi issues.
As with most hotels in Venice, most guests experience some Wi-Fi issues here. Those wishing to connect more than one device may find themselves struggling and, once connected, service is slow.
negative:
Not to everyone's taste.
With classical décor and antique furnishings, the hotels design may not be to everyone's tastes. If you prefer a more contemporary style this may not be the hotel for you. The hotel does, however, have all the mod cons you'd expect from a four-star establishment; such as satellite TV and air conditioning.
negative:
Small economy rooms.
If you opt for an economy room, you may find your sleeping quarters a little compact. If you can, previous guests advise upgrading to a standard double or junior suite for something with more generous proportions.
