About Hotel Migny Opéra Montmartre
Located in vibrant Montmartre, close to both the excesses of Pigale and the transcendence of Sacre Coeur, Migny Opera Montmartre offers stylish modern accommodation able to accommodate large groups.
The rooms have that sleek, utilitarian look, and feature en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning, LCD TV’s with satellite channels, in-room safes, alarm clocks, work desks and soundproof windows.
Reception is open 24 hours and can assist with tours, transfers and local information. Wi-Fi is free of charge and available throughout the property.
A comprehensive French buffet breakfast is available each morning, but for proper meals the world’s culinary capital beckons just outside the hotel’s doors. Reception staff will be happy to offer recommendations if asked.
Sacre Coeur is about 0.7 miles from Migny Opera, but of course it is quite an uphill climb. Maybe it’s best to take the funicular. The crowd favourite, the Louvre, is about 1.4 miles to the south.
Positive Reviews
positive:
Some rooms ideal for families
Guests travelling as part of a family group mentioned that the hotel has some rooms that are really able to accommodate up to five people in comfort. Apparently these sorts of rooms are rare in Paris, so they were grateful to have one. It meant that they could book one room instead of two.
positive:
Good central location
While some did have issues with the immediate neighbourhood, most agreed that the location was superb. It was close to Sacre Coeur, and of course a couple of metro stations that could take them anywhere in Paris they cared to visit.
positive:
Staff very helpful
While guests did seem to have a few issues with the hotel, it did not seem like staff attitude was one of them. Guests were almost unanimous in saying that the staff were exceptionally helpful, always willing to patiently help or advise them.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Immediate area a bit seedy
While guests did like the location, because it was so central, the immediate area was said to be a bit seedy, with sex shops and prostitutes plying their trade later at night. This has been a part of the Pigale district for a long time, and it didn't phase most, but some families with younger children were not as relaxed about it.
negative:
Some rooms overlook office building
Going by guest comments, it seems that some of the rooms have an especially unfortunate view across to an office building. Some rooms do have better views, so it is worth asking if any of these are available.
negative:
Very small bathrooms
It seems that most of the bathrooms are very small. While certainly not unusual for Paris, many guests felt they were uncomfortable to use. The showers were especially criticised for being impractical, making it hard to take a proper shower.
