Hotel Maximilian - Stadthaus Penz (Innsbruck, Austria)

While many guests were in town more for the surroundings that the town itself, those who appreciated the history and atmosphere of the town really liked the location. It was said to be right in the very heart of the Old Town, so guests did not have far to go to view the charming buildings.

While guests enjoyed being in the Old Town, they enjoyed staying in an exceptionally modern hotel room even more. They described the décor at Maximilian as very sleek and modern, which they appreciated retreating to after a time viewing the historical gems in the streets outside.

Guests mentioned that they encountered unexpected little personal touches that really gave them a good impression of the hotel and its staff. Things like hand written notes, bowls of fruit in their room and similar unexpected gestures seemed to go a long way with them.

This surprisingly specific complaint came up a number of times. It seems that it particularly affected guests travelling in spring. They mentioned that despite a fairly cool outside temperature, their room was uncomfortably hot. At that time the air conditioning had not been activated, so they could get no relief.

Several guests mentioned really not liking the bathroom design. The designers seemed to have opted for the frosted glass walled bathrooms. While very trendy, most guests did not like the lack of privacy that resulted.

While guests did not exactly say they were too small, quite a few did say that the rooms are smaller then they appear in the hotel's marketing materials.
