Positive Reviews
positive:
No-frills value.
Plenty of reviewers found Liverpool Lodge to provide good value as a cheaper option for overnight accommodation within two miles of the city centre. As the saying goes, it does what it says on the tin; so those expecting a luxury hotel are likely to be disappointed. However, many guests felt it was fine for a short stay on a budget.
positive:
Well-connected location.
Some reviewers commented that the location is handy for getting around easily. Liverpool Lodge is situated beside one of the main roads leading to the city centre so buses in all directions are frequent and stop nearby.
positive:
Midnight feasts possible.
A quirky feature of this bed and breakfast is the provision of a snack basket in the bedrooms. Some guests described it as a nice touch. It reportedly contains crisps, juices and biscuits – the perfect tonic for an attack of the munchies.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Tight fit in smaller rooms.
One recurring theme among reviews is the cramped nature of some of the rooms. Plenty of visitors have also remarked that the various stairs and hallways can be a bit narrow if you’re lugging baggage around.
negative:
En suite confusion.
According to some reviewers, there are rooms promoted as having an en suite toilet but on arrival this has turned out to be only an en suite urinal. Perhaps unsurprisingly, this was a surprise for some visitors. In any case, there are regular toilets in the shared facilities.
negative:
Sometimes noisy.
Being situated by a main road does mean there can be noise from late-night passers-by and traffic. Some reviewers blamed thin walls in the Victorian property for making it difficult to sleep due to noise from other guests coming and going at night.
