Positive Reviews
positive:
Beautiful soft sand beach at your feet.
Las Palomas Beach Golf Resort is based right on a beautiful, clean, soft sand beach, handy to warm water, and all the natural attractions of Rocky Point. Guests said you are not far away from downtown Puerto Peñasco, if you want to go and check the out the city's attractions and dining options, pick up groceries for home cooking or grilling, or perhaps take the short drive to visit Bahía la Choya (Cholla Bay).
positive:
Great pool facility, kid friendly.
With a great pool — complete with a swim-up bar — a hot tub, a reportedly lovely lazy river and a team of staff working in the pool area who are said to be very nice, the pool complex was popular with many who stayed. The resort is also said to be very family friendly, with the option of a kids' club available.
positive:
Fully-equipped kitchens, sea views for some.
Guests said the suites were very handily fitted out with a fully-equipped kitchen, including everything you need to make yourself a home away from home while on holiday. In addition, some quarters apparently had nice views over the Sea of Cortez, but in keep in mind that this is not the case with every condo.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Getting service difficult, less than satisfactory.
Some of those who stayed at Las Palomas Beach Golf Resort said it was difficult to get cleaning service for their suite — which a few expected given the price and star rating — and when it happened, it was thought to be a superficial cleaning. Furthermore, the reception service was thought to be less than professional in the view of some, and downright rude to a small number of guests.
negative:
Maintenance and cleanliness could be better.
The maintenance here is reportedly not the best, with amenities in the condos more than occasionally being reported as not working, including, a few times, the air conditioning, with the time taken to fix these problems causing frustration. The cleanliness standards were on the odd occasion also not very good, and a few of those who stayed reported roaches.
negative:
Be careful of extra charges.
One matter raised by a fair number of guests is the chance of hidden charges and deposits, as some people said they got caught unaware by these after booking online. Another thing to be aware of is the late checkout charge, which sometimes caught less organized guests out.
