Positive Reviews
positive:
Charming historical building.
Kerrington House is a former Victorian era gentleman’s accommodation and many of the original features can still be seen throughout the property including the original brick and stone work, ceiling mouldings and floors. The original marble fireplaces have also been retained and add a great deal of cosy warmth to the interiors.
positive:
Individually decorated rooms add elegance.
Guest rooms are limited to five in total and each one is individually decorated with a variety of furnishings and antiques to bring out its own unique character and charm. Some rooms feature brass beds while other have wood sleigh beds. All rooms are en-suite with bath or shower. Room features include central heating, coffee makers, flat screen TV’s and free Wi-Fi. Extras include hospitality trays, complimentary toiletries, plush gowns and bath sheets.
positive:
Can be booked as private party.
Kerrington House is quite small and the entire property can be booked out for private functions, as a private holiday home or for business team building excursion accommodation.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Beautiful rooms with thin walls.
While every effort has been made to create elegant and cosy rooms, the walls are quite thin and lack adequate soundproofing which is more apparent in some rooms. Everything can be heard from adjoining rooms as well as downstairs areas.
negative:
No restaurant for lunch or evening meals.
Kerrington House offers a myriad of breakfast choices which can be enjoyed each morning in the spacious breakfast room overlooking the garden. However, the guest house does not offer any lunch or dinner options but is well-situated within walking distance of a few reasonably priced restaurants including Indian and Chinese.
negative:
Temperamental Wi-Fi connectivity.
Free Wi-Fi is offered throughout the property but can be quite temperamental at times with poor or slow signal more apparent in certain areas, particularly upstairs areas.
