Hotel Hidden Paradise Resort (Negril, Jamaica)

The friendliness of the resort's staff is by far the most mentioned positive aspect of Hidden Paradise. In fact it was mentioned a few times as the reason a guest returned to the resort.

While the resort is actually across the road from the beach, it does have a beach bar and restaurant right on the beach called Mama Flo's. Both the restaurant and Mama Flo herself get high praise from the guests. They like the atmosphere and location right on the beach sand.

While some guests do grumble that there are not really any sea views from the property, others do not mind at all, and appreciate the more subdued atmosphere of the gardens, which are described as colourful and full of birdlife.

While there were indications in early 2016 that this was being addressed, several guests complain of very uncomfortable and worn mattresses. It seems that they sag, causing an uncomfortable nights sleep.

This was brought up by quite a few guests. It seems that the air conditioning units in many rooms do not work properly. The complaints range from them emitting strange odours, to being too loud, to being ineffective. But whatever the reason, there were large numbers of guests unhappy with their room's air conditioning.

The inclusion of the word “resort” in the hotel's title comes in for some criticism. It is pointed out that it doesn't really have resort facilities, but is simply a hotel in its own grounds. Guests looking for resort-style facilities will not find them at this hotel.
