Positive Reviews
positive:
On a quiet and secluded stretch of beach
The position of the hotel, on a quiet and secluded stretch of beach, is described as unbeatable. This was by far the most positive aspect guests mentioned. They booked at the hotel to have a tranquil beach holiday, and this is exactly what the surroundings offered up.
positive:
Restaurant and shops nearby
Several guests mention that they are very pleased that the resort is not isolated, like many others. They never felt boxed in, since they could just walk a couple of minutes down the road and be presented with any number of choices for shopping and dining.
positive:
Great pool area in the main hotel
While guests most liked the beach, the hotel's two pools were said to give Mother Nature a run for her money in terms of popularity. Guests spent a good deal of time there, with or without a drink in hand.
Negative Reviews
negative:
A little rough around the edges
The rooms and public areas of the Federal Villa's were described by the majority of guests as “tired”, and very much in need of updating or replacing. The issue was not purely a matter of décor, but also actual equipment and fixtures, which guests said needed to be repaired or replaced.
negative:
Poor cousin of the flagship resort next door
The Federal Villa is attached to the much nicer and better equipped Holliday Villa right next door, with which facilities are shared. While guests concede that they paid a much lower room rate than they would have at the Holliday Villa, they couldn't quite shake the uneasy feeling that they were the poorer cousins.
negative:
Mosquitoes and ants share the rooms
Several guests mention mosquito and ant infestations in their rooms, which they found unacceptable whatever the room rate.
