Positive Reviews
positive:
Convenient place for a quick stop
Most guests say that the inn is nice enough, but nothing special. But considering the rate, they feel it is ideal for a quick stop of a night or two, especially if they have business in the area. Also, it is easily accessible from the Northern Boulevard. They seem to be a bit more reluctant to recommend it for a long stay.
positive:
Great neighbourhood restaurants nearby
Several guests mention that there are great restaurants in the area, well within walking or very short driving distance. Saggio's Pizza is specifically mentioned as being very good.
positive:
Quiet, tranquil area
The East Norwich Inn is in a lovely building which is surrounded by mature trees. Guests find that it is a tranquil place to retreat to after what has often been a busy and stressful day.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Rooms in need of renovation
While guests conceded that this is not advertised as a luxury inn, several mentioned that the rooms seemed a bit tired, and were past their due date for a full refresh. There were some indications, in late 2015, that renovations were taking place. Travellers are advised to contact the hotel to check the current status.
negative:
Possible problem with rising damp
More than just a couple of guests bring up this issue, saying that their rooms felt damp. No reports of visible mould, but guests were concerned that the dampness may result in undetected mould.
negative:
No lift in the building
The absence of a lift, resulting in at the very most a climb up two flights of stairs, was occasionally cited as a problem. Guests with mobility issues, or who will check in after an exhausting flight, should be aware that there might be one final hurdle before they get to their room.
