About Drossos
Situated just minutes from Perissa Beach, considered one of Greece’s best, Drossos Hotel offers a traditional Greek atmosphere and classic accommodation to those looking for a great beach break.
The 26 rooms are set out in three buildings around the pool terrace and are elegantly furnished. Each features en-suite bathroom, in-room safe and dressing table.
The lovely courtyard with pool is undoubtedly the central feature of Drossos. It has the usual sun beds and café terrace, as well as terrific views of the hills. Wi-Fi is available throughout the property.
A basic breakfast is available on-site, but for proper meals reception staff will be happy to offer good local dining recommendations.
Goulas Castle, in the village of Emporio, is just two miles from Drossos, but the main attraction is surely Perissa Beach, just 300 yards down the road. Santorini Airport is just 4.5 miles from the hotel.
Positive Reviews
positive:
Good location near the beach
Whatever their problems with the hotel, and there were certainly some, guests did appreciate the location. It was described as very close to the beautiful Perissa Beach, as well as the cafes and tavernas of the town itself.
positive:
Nice pool area
This was, by far, the part of the hotel that guests most liked. While it doesn't have a sea view, the outlook over the hills is nonetheless described as lovely. There were no complaints of too few sun beds, and the whole atmosphere seems to be more relaxed and agreeable that one would find in a big resort.
positive:
Pretty quiet location
Guests felt that the location, a little away from the beach, resulted in a very quiet environment. They didn't seem to have any problems with either cars or revellers outside disturbing their sleep.
Negative Reviews
negative:
No respect for bookings made
This was perhaps the most numerous complaint, and definitely the most serious. Guests speak of arriving with confirmed bookings, and the owner/manger simply ignoring them and sending guests to other hotels. Whatever excuses are given, guests clearly do not believe them, saying the owner simply bumps people with confirmed reservations out if he can get more for their room.
negative:
Owner can be rude and abusive
Related to the overbooking perhaps, the owner was said to get rude, and even abusive, when confronted by guests. They felt very poorly treated and described the owner as exceptionally poor at customer relations.
negative:
Some rooms were a bit smelly
While not reported by most guests, a surprising number do say that there rooms smelt awful. They believed this was because of a backed up sewer system, but whatever the reason they obviously didn't like it.
