Positive Reviews
positive:
Peaceful canal-ring location.
De Munck is located on a quiet street near a canal and green square, and close to a supermarket and plenty of shopping. Although the 20-minute walk to the city centre may be a little far for some, the number 4 tram stops very close by and many attractions
positive:
Clean, budget value.
For those travelling on a budget, this hotel offers clean and reasonably comfortable accommodation in a heritage property for much less than you will pay in many Amsterdam hotels.
positive:
Lovely staff and simple breakfast.
The friendly and understanding team members have been found to be very welcoming and also to put on a convenient and satisfactory continental breakfast.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Steep stairs outside and inside hotel.
Like most buildings of its age in Amsterdam, De Munck has no lift and some impressively steep stairs, so this means it is not really suitable for anyone with mobility problems.
negative:
Toilets and showers in the corridor.
Not all rooms have private bathrooms, so be prepared that you may have to go into the hallway to use the shared facilities.
negative:
A bit expensive for what you get.
A few guests found the property to be expensive for the basic quality rooms offered, some would like to see kettles in the rooms, and others found the hotel to be further from the city centre than they liked.
