Guests really liked the location of the hotel. It was said to be right in downtown Raleigh, with the whole of the downtown core within walking distance. Those interested in the local nightlife seemed to be the most satisfied with the location.

A bit of a noisy environment
This was perhaps the most common complaint. Guests found the hotel to be a noisy place in general. The location by two busy streets downtown resulted in noise from both cars and revelers down below. Inconsiderate guests were also said to make a lot of noise in the hallways.

In a poor state of repair
Many guests mentioned that they thought the whole building, including both their rooms and the public areas looked like they had not been properly maintained over the years. As a result, they had too many dings, scratches and other issues that had not been taken care of. Guests felt that a major renovation was now needed to bring the property back up to standard.
