The hotel is located in a quiet area and is less than 15-minutes' drive from Newport, Rhode Island. In the local area, the shopping center, beach, a variety of restaurants and various attractions are also easily accessible.

The rooms were reportedly clean, comfortable, spacious and inexpensive. A continental breakfast is included in the price, as are the basic necessities of Wi-Fi, a hot shower, comfortable bed and tea and coffee making facilities. In the warmer months guests also enjoyed the outdoor swimming pool.

Various problems were reported regarding the hotels' amenities. The air conditioning system is old and many guests found it to be noisy which disturbed their sleep. Bathroom fixtures were found to be old and in a state of disrepair. In some cases the showers continually dripped water and the toilets did not flush properly.

Many guests were disappointed with the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms and reported that they would not return to this hotel. The furnishings were old and outdated, and in some cases torn or broken. Some rooms were musty and smelled of mildew. The bathrooms were not always cleaned well and mold was also found growing on the walls and bath. In some rooms the carpets were stained and the curtains dusty and torn.

A few guests reported feeling unvalued as customers, as when problems were reported with the amenities or cleanliness of the rooms, some staff appeared to be unconcerned.
