Guests were able to enjoy peaceful and quite evenings as the hotel is far away enough from the hustle and bustle. Many appreciated the convenience of being just a short stroll away from the beach as well as the popular Main Street with its numerous shops, bars and restaurants.
Many appreciated the nostalgic and informal ambiance of the hotel and said that they felt relaxed and at ease for the duration of their stay. During their free time guests enjoyed sitting on the rocking chairs on the porch with their cocktails whilst admiring the scenic views and the ocean breeze. If you are not a fan of chain hotels and prefer old-world charm then you won't be disappointed.
Guests were complimentary with regards to the level of service they received from the staff who they described as approachable and helpful. The front-desk staff were efficient when it came to dealing with various requests whilst the waiting staff were said to be polite and courteous.
The soundproofing was said to be inadequate as guests were able to hear noise from the adjoining rooms and many also objected to the fact that they were disturbed by the sound of footsteps from the occupants above them.
Many found it inconvenient not having, televisions and phones in their rooms as well as other essentials such as hairdryers and ironing equipment. Those who stayed in the standard-type rooms objected to the lack of air-conditioning.
Quite a few guests found it difficult to adjust the heating in their rooms and as a result said that they felt uncomfortably warm whilst others who did not have air-conditioning found the fans inadequate when it came to cooling down their rooms.
