MOVING AROUND THE AREA In addition to the historic center of the "Little Jerusalem" it is certainly recommended to take some time to explore its immediate surroundings. Starting with the suggestive "vie cave". Ancient and fascinating Etruscan open-air paths obtained by digging the tufaceous rock between Pitigliano, Sovana and Sorano. The whole area is in fact full of history and fantastic places to visit just a few minutes away. In less than 10 minutes you can find, as already mentioned, the ancient villages of Sovana and Sorano (and its spas) and, if you want to spend a day in total relaxation, in just 20 minutes you can reach the famous natural spas of Saturnia. Compulsory stop for wine lovers are then the food and wine tours in the wineries located in the area. Moving a little further, about 40 minutes, it will be possible to visit Lake Bolsena (one of the largest volcanic lakes in Europe), the Orbetello lagoon or have an aperitif at sunset on the wonderful beaches of Porto Ercole and Porto S.
