Ocean Walk, with all the movies, bars, shops and restaurants- is just a 'walk' away. The Conference Center is just over a 10 minute walk, as is the recognized conference HQ hotel: Hilton Daytona. Pizzas and a liquor store are just opposite the hotel.
The hotel has lots of well established character but, unlike many, it maintains high standards of cleanliness. It's a pleasure to stay here.
Historical becomes just plain old and dated here with dirty carpets and furniture and uninvited bedfellows in the form of bugs!
There's a well established 'aroma' about this place, suggesting long standing and unaddressed problems relating to cleanliness. 'Daily housekeeping'? It doesn't exist. Consequently, there is bug attracting, overflowing rubbish and of course, no replacement of towels and bed linen. In addition, bathrooms are tiny.
Staff do apologize for problems, but that's all. Any request for a refund or financial re-imbursement is ignored completely + some staff 'turn' on the complaining guest. No decision making manager is to be found anywhere!
