Masseria Rottacapozza is a typical rural building dating back to the sixteenth century, when the territory, fief of Gemini, belonged to Minto Antonio Bishop of Ugento, as reflected in the report of the feud dell'apprezzo Ugento reported in Tavolario Luca Vecchione in the year 1767.
