Formally known as the North 16 Goa, the Hard Rock Hotel Goa offers some of Goa’s most stylish and trendy accommodation with resort-style amenities just minutes from the famous beaches. The spacious rooms have that sleek and modern international feel, but with some bold use of colour. Each features air conditioning, minibar, LCD TV, in-room safe, work desk and telephone. The outdoor pool terrace is the central attraction at Hard Rock Goa, and features the brand’s signature live performances and other entertainment. There is also a wellness area with a full spa and gym. Sessions is the main buffet restaurant and serves international favourites for all three meals, while the Poolside Bar and Grille is the place to be for the casual atmosphere, drinks and light meals. Calangute Beach is only 0.8 miles from Hard Rock Hotel Goa, while the airport is approximately 23 miles to the south.
The central pool terrace was by far guest's favourite part of the hotel. They mention that it is as if the whole hotel is designed around this area, and it seems most guests spent the bulk if their waking hours here. It was described as not only good for absorbing some rays, but also as the location where most of the entertainment took place.
Of course guests don't choose to book at the Hard Rock Hotel so they can enjoy a quiet holiday that involves snuggling up with a hot mug of cocoa. They choose it because they are looking to have a good time. Guests mention that, though the entertainment isn't constant, the hotel does put on a number of live shows, and also arranges pool parties and much more.
It seemed that the guests thought very highly of the staff, saying they were unfailingly polite and always wiling to try to help them in any way they could.
A couple of guests mentioned that, though it was not very far in distance, the walk to the beach was over some very rough roads, with potentially dangerous traffic, making them less inclined to make the trip on foot.
The reviews of the food offered by the hotel were very mixed indeed, but the breakfast seemed to come in for quite a lot of criticism. Guests mentioned that the staff seemed disorganised, leading to food served at room temperature and various other problems as well.
While not often mentioned, it was pointed out that the hotel's restaurants provide almost no Indian dishes. All the food seems to be “international” cuisine.
