The area around the hotel is pretty quiet despite being close to the centre of town where all the restaurants, shops and attractions are. Banff National Park is also nearby and the city of Calgary is about an hour's drive away.
The exterior of the building itself is quite old with dated features and a lack of character and is definitely due for some renovations in the near future. Guests also reported that the outside grounds around the building are filled with trash
Guests reported that the rooms are not very clean and feature uncomfortable beds and furniture. Also reported was old carpet, broken amenities, lots of dust and a lack of toiletries in the bathrooms.
Staff members at this hotel are not friendly nor professional when dealing with guests. Guests reported that staff members don't seem to care when issues arise, they do not provide an apology when things go wrong, they slack off with their duties and they often refuse to accommodate any special requests. Also reported was issues that go unresolved or take a long time to be resolved.
