Guests repeatedly praised this B&B for its cosy rooms and super comfy beds, providing everything guests needed to feel truly at home. Reviewers were impressed with little bonuses, like free parking, beautiful views from some of the rooms, the dog friendly policy, free coffee throughout the day, and the selection of DVD's and take away possibility that allowed for a nice night in.

The Lakes Lodge staff was repeatedly mentioned by reviewers as wonderful and welcoming. They were also described as being extremely helpful in planning guests' day trips and tours of the region, thanks to plenty of insider knowledge of the best things to do in Ambleside and the Lake District on the whole.

Guests with delighted with this location, that placed them smack dab in the middle of Ambleside's vibrant town centre. Whether guests wanted to have a pint at the pub, check out the art gallery, or perhaps catch a show at one of the village's three cinemas, Lake Lodge had them getting there on foot within minutes. This B&B is also beautifully located for further Lake District day trip touring.

While some guests seemed very happy with the breakfast served here, others felt the first meal of the day to be merely adequate, served up in a manner reminiscent of hostel accommodation. Complaints included having to queue up cafeteria style, and then receiving rather limited fare that was sometimes cold or of poor quality. Insufficient seating at this busy time of day was also mentioned.

Some reviewers had problems with a reported stuffy room temperature. Even with windows open, these guests complained that the rooms still felt uncomfortably warm to them, interfering with their ability to sleep.

Some guests reported receiving rooms that were so small they could barely squeeze themselves between the bed and wall. On the whole, however, most guests reported receiving nicely spacious rooms for their stay.
