Situated at the end of the peninsula, 1.8 miles beyond the town of Argostoli, the Galaxy Hotel Hotel offers guests a tranquil hideaway just far enough away from the hustle and bustle. Each has its own balcony, with views of either the Ionian Sea or the rolling hills of Argostoli. The centrepiece is of course the pool terrace. There are a number of charming restaurants on the peninsula, well within walking distance, for other meals. The Agioi Theodoron Lighthouse is just steps away, while the lovely Makris Beach and the Port are both only 0.6 miles. The nightlife of Argostoli is 1.8 miles to the south.

Though most concede that the property is indeed advertised as a two star hotel, guests say that in terms of facilities it really is a two star hotel. The staff certainly gets very high marks, but the facilities are described as fairly basic.
There were not many guests who actually enjoyed the breakfast served at the hotel. It is described as being too simple and insufficient. Most suggest foregoing breakfast at the hotel, for breakfast at one at the great little cafes in the area.
So, perhaps it's just as well that breakfast is the only meal served at the hotel. Some guests did find it a little inconvenient that no other food was available on-site. They feel it would have been nice to at least be able to order a quick snack.
