Taken over by new owners in February 2012, they are continually renovating and improving the hostel based on quality, value, service and an environmental ethos. Doolin Hostel is the first hostel in Ireland to achieve Gold with Green Hosptiality Awards and they are active members of the Burren and Cliffs of Moher Geopark and Burren Eco Tourism. Doolin is a small coastal village world famous for traditional Irish music, the gateway to the Aran Islands, at the foot of the Cliffs of Moher, and an ideal location for exploring the Burren. For outdoor enthusiasts there are an abundance of activities to choose from with many quality activity providers to guide you if needed. You have 250 caves in North Clare, world class surfing, bouldering/rock climbing, sea kayaking, horse riding, mountain biking, cycling and much much more. And Doolin Hostel is well equipped to look after your days adventure with outdoor wash area for equipment, drying room, laundry, bike storage and excellent local knowledge of where to go, what providers to use. Doolin is also nested in the Burren and Cliffs of Moher Geopark with many megalithic tombs, castles, forts, and other interesting historic artifacts to explore, or go bird watching for Puffins on the Cliffs of Moher, explore the unique geology of the Burren, which is also a haven for botanists and garden lovers alike with many unique orchids, arctic and alpine flowers flourishing side by side in this unique lunar landscape.
