Positive Reviews
positive:
Right Around The Corner
Great location with fantastic restaurants around the corner. The lodge is close to the new Galashiels railway station as well. It will take you under ten-minutes to walk to the station from the lodge. Plenty of shops and Weatherspoons is a short walk away.
positive:
Helpful Easy Going Staff
The staff is helpful, pleasant, and friendly. The owner is charming, easy going, and makes sure that everything is satisfactory as much as possible. If it's possible, your wish is fulfilled. The service is affable but not pushy. Service is efficient and professional.
positive:
For The Budget Conscious
If you are on a budget and looking for value for money, this guest house will suit your needs.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Rough Around The Edges
The bed is reasonably comfortable; however, the overall décor of the facility is tiring. The building is old, which is fine, but details like replacing the shabby front door and garish signs could go a long way as far as improvement is concerned. Quality is lacking though the place is clean. It's somewhat depressive and uninspiring.
negative:
Hard Start To The Day
You may find your breakfast less than satisfactory. The produce used for ingredients does not taste fresh or local. The ingredients seem poor quality in general and the menu has no interesting variety.
negative:
Don't Go To The Back
If possible, get a room in the back of the lodge. The front is where the noise is and on Friday nights the noise goes up a notch or two.
