It is well worth booking one of the Bay Guest House's sea facing balcony rooms: the views out across the water – particularly in the evening - are just superb!

Although the guest house is happy to accommodate good natured pooches at any time of year, none of the local beaches allow dogs to go anywhere near them during the main summer season (May-Oct). Something to bear in mind if you're thinking of holidaying wi

Resort centre is a bit of a walk away.
It takes about 15-20 minutes to reach Southend's main sights on foot so it's a bit more than a comfortable stroll away for some. That being said, there are plenty of buses going in both directions and taxis are surprisingly cheap.

...So you may have to wait your turn for breakfast if the guest house is fully booked. Not ideal, especially if you have a schedule to keep to.
