Positive Reviews
positive:
Beautifully quaint.
The guesthouse sets the right mood as you drive up to the front door. It’s very rustic and in keeping with the local surroundings. You’ll feel right at home and might mistake your room as a guest room in a friend’s house rather than the one in a B&B.
positive:
Lovely location.
If you are looking for a relaxing weekend in an English village, then this is the place for you. The local village is beautiful, and the locals are extremely friendly. There is a great atmosphere at the local village pub which also serves great food.
positive:
Nice owners very welcoming.
The owners are some of the nicest people you will meet and have a lot of time for their guests. If you need some friendly advice on local day trips or if you just fancy a chat, they’re always around to help out.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Paying upfront seems strange.
The policy of paying on arrival isn’t such a big deal but for some it might seem a little off-putting. It sort of shows a lack of trust but in fairness it also means that you can slip away on the morning of departure without having to check out.
negative:
Too cold even with the heating on.
The English weather isn’t the most welcoming so you’d expect the rooms and cottages to be warm against the chill of the night. Unfortunately though this is not the case, and even with the heating on for a while, you may still feel that chill.
negative:
Walls are paper thin.
The owners need to invest in some better walls between rooms as unfortunately they are far too thin. You can hear everything that is going on in each room, and if you’re a light sleeper, you should hope you don’t have noisy neighbours.
